COMPETITIVE PRODUCT

To have any chance in making my speaker design a sucess i will need to have certain features and aspects on my speaker that will make it stand out and different to other speakers on the current market.
The first step in making it a real competitive product will be the choice of materials. Unlike other speakers i want to make my speaker out of high end quality materials, The top end speakers currently use metal and thats it with some other using natural hard woods such as Oak or Mahogany. Although these materials are high quality and look amazing i will have to take in to consideration about the weight of these as they are much hevier than plastic. A light weight alternative but still very high end would be Carbon Fibre as this has a huge strength to weight ratio and looks modern and very nice.
If my speaker wants to compete with the top brands and speakers at the moment i will need to have amazing sound quality. By this i mean that the speaker must be able to play music at a high volume so it can be heard in its environment clearly, whether it is inside or outside it needs to be loud. Another popular aspect is the quality of the Bass coming out of the speaker as this is a very popular feature among people as lots of songs now have bass in which plays a primary role in the song. Having this bass will make the speaker popular as not many, if any portable speakers have good bass.
The connectivity of the speaker will play a major aspect in making the speaker really competitive as this is what enables the speaker to be used by a number of people rather than a specific audience. There is the possibility of having a dock but this would entail a specific adapter needed which would then rule out the ability to use differebt devices. Bluetooth is the most effective and popular way to connect a device to the speaker as it rules out the use of a cable but also allows different devices to be used with it. Adding bluetooth will make it competitive with the other high end brands as they also feature this where as the cheaper models do not.
