WHAT IS NEEDED
As i have decided to make a portable speaker it will have to be powered by a long lasting battery which can be recharged and reused multiple times with out the need to replace it. These kinds of batterys are most commenly found in laptops as they have a good life span and also are light weight.
The battery its self is quite bulky compared to other components in the speaker so will need some room. The battery will require some protection not only to itself but to other components. The battery will need to be wrapped or encased so it wont get pierced and prevent a leakage. The battery also needs to be protected as it will get hot thus if near other components it could possibly damage them.

I have said that i want the speaker to be easy to connect with a device so i decided to use bluetooth. To achieve this i will need to attach a bluetooth reciever inside the speaker so the device can be connected without the need for wires. The reciever is smallk so will not require lots of room but will need to be placed near the surface of the housing so thwe signal can be recieved easily.

This is one of the most important parts of the speaker in my eyes as it is the component that will allow the user to ajust the sound to their liking making it feel personal and less industrial. The amplifier will allow the user to adjust the bass and treble of the sound being played and some amplifiers come with a volume toggle to lower and raise the volume.
Amplifiers come as a solid unit with all the controls sealed in, it is more than likely that i will have to take the unit apart so that it will reduce the size but also allow me to freely move the controls into a position that looks the best.

This is with out the power and golden star of the speaker as with out a driver you dont have a speaker as no sound can be emitted. Speaker drivers come in different sizes the bigger being the louder and the smaller they are the less likely they will be loud. I will want to use a medium sized speaker driver as it isnt to heavy but provides good quality loud sound. I will use more than one of these possibly two as this will provide double the sound and loudness. out of all the components the drivers will take up the most room due to their depth and awkward cone shape. I will need to make sure the drivers are connected and well secure to the speaker housing so they will not move and disconnect the connections.
