For the environmental Snap short I will take a picture of a existing KEF speaker in its environment such as a living room. I will then annotate the picture pointing out which changes I will make to my speaker and which aspects of the speaker I will keep. I aim to do at least two different as I will get a general idea of what I would like to keep and scrap of past speakers
For the competitive product page I will get pictures of different features that I will want to include on the speaker. I will then write why I have chosen to include this, how I will do this and why it will make my speaker a competitive product, to those already existing.
For the Brand Profiling I will create a page that will contain a mini mood board of KEF. The page will also contain information about KEF, I will also include information on their speakers that are being sold. I will write about where they are placed, how big they are, and what materials they have used to create the speaker
For the existing design analysis I will use pictures of different speakers that are currently in use. I will then analyse them in detail explaining why they are the way they are. I will use this to help me with my designing as I will be able to pick out certain features and build ideas that are working well in real life.
To complete the mood board I will collect pictures of various modern products. The mood board is basically all your ideas displayed in a picture format for showing the colours and finishes available as well as products already designed in the modernism style. I will also include pictures to do with KEF as I can relate to them when creating my product. The Majority of pictures I will use will be of high end and expensive products as that is what KEF is. When I have made my final product I will take a picture of it and put it into the mood board and see if it fits in with the style I have used
To complete the questionnaire I will need to ask different people about what they like in a speaker, plan to ask them questions about how much they would pay, how long they use a speaker for and what do they look in a speaker. To find out what my design should look like I will go and ask the public what they would like to see on a speaker for a high quality brand like KEF. To do this I plan to go to Bluewater shopping centre and ask people who go into the high end technology shops like BOSE and Apple. I plan to learn what the public will want.
For the Market research page I will like to learn about the market that my chosen brand is in, in doing this I will see what and who are my rival brands and how they advertise their products and speakers.
using customer profiling I can build up a picture of the person I may be selling my speaker to in the future. I want to find out what type of house the customer lives in, what car they drive, what phone they have, what there favourite colour is etc all I need to find out is what the customer likes and what they do. I am going to find this out by doing a questionnaire asking all the various different questions I need to find out. Advantages of finding out about someone is that the information they tell me can help design a product for there needs and likes. Disadvantages of doing a customer profile is that not many people will be willing to tell me about there self's especially when they don’t know me, also the information they tell me may not be true.
