Aesthetics
I want to have a design that incorporates linear and geometrical shapes into the design. To make the speaker link to KEF I want to have a three colour scheme on the speaker keeping it minimalist but linking to the KEF design style.

 

Cost
I want to make a product that is high quality and belongs in the high price bracket that KEF has. I will need to use high quality materials and manufacturing techniques to enable the high price range to be accepted.

 

Environment 
The speaker must be suitable for indoor use as well as being used outside. The speaker must be light enough and small enough be portable while maintaining high quality in its design and materials used. Speaker will have to be strong enough that if dropped it will not break.

 

Size
The speaker must be small enough yet not to big that it is a hassle to carry. Although maintaining a smaller size the speaker must be loud enough. The speaker will be wireless to minimise wires and ease of use.

 

Safety
The speaker must not electrocute anyone, so use of non conductive materials will be needed. All wire connections must be secure and no loose wires that the user can come I contact with.

 

Function
A device must be able to connect to the peaker easily and quickly. Application of industry standard ports I.e. USB, aux and power to allow additional support for various devices. Speaker must play high quality sound at a loud enough volume to play outside.

 

Materials
Materials must be high quality and durable. I will use wood, metal and plastics. Materials cannot distort the sound quality. Materials must not be a conductor for electricity. Materials must be light enough to allow a portable speaker.
